Research in the field of mathematical giftedness mostly touches concepts of support as well as diagnostics or materials for special support of gifted children. However, the beliefs of mathematically gifted children about the discipline of mathematics or about mathematical activities have been insufficiently explored so far. This desideratum will be addressed in the following by presenting two case studies of the students Zola and Madita, dedicated to describing their beliefs about the above topics. The aim is to derive first tendencies as well as first ideas for the development of a (mathematical) identity based on mathematical beliefs.
